Common issues seen in dancers
Dance places unique demands on the body — from repetitive loading and overuse injuries to fatigue, mobility restrictions, and performance stress.
At Aurora Chinese Medicine, we provide individualized acupuncture care for dancers at every stage of their training, from dedicated young students to professionals. Our approach considers the physical, technical, and recovery demands of dance while helping dancers navigate pain, training load, performance stress, and the demands of intensive practice schedules.
Why choose us
We take a recovery approach that understands the realities of dance training.
Many dancers seek acupuncture not only during injury, but also as part of a broader recovery and performance support approach. The physical and technical demands of dance can make recovery complex, especially during intensive training and performance periods. Our treatments are individualized according to each dancer’s training demands, injury history, recovery capacity, stress load, movement patterns, and current performance goals.
Care may include acupuncture, electroacupuncture, movement-informed assessment, massage therapy, recovery support strategies, and nervous system regulation. Acupuncture can also complement physiotherapy, strength training, and other medical or rehabilitative care.
Rather than focusing only on symptom relief, our approach aims to support more sustainable movement, recovery, and long-term performance while respecting the realities of dance training and performance schedules.
